LION OF JUDAH

A statue in Allegan, MI.

Just a few days ago we remembered Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. At that time He was the sacrificial lamb for the sins of all people. Up until that time the priests in the temple sacrificed perfect lambs so God would forgive the people’s sins. Jesus became the last perfect lamb to be sacrificed once and for all. Now we have a strong risen Lord. Read the description of Jesus given in Revelation 5:5, ” Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals’.” Jesus’s first appearance on earth was to be sacrificed like a lamb. When He returns He will come back strong and mighty as a lion, delivering judgement on Satan and all those who have rejected Him as the only Lord and Savior. We who have declared Jesus as Lord will have no need to fear Him when He returns. I think of Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia. To the children who accepted him he was gentle and kind, but to those who rejected him he was a strong force to deal with. Have you made your decision to accept or reject Jesus Christ? When Jesus returns will you feel His love or His wrath?
