IM000729.JPGToday and tomorrow are all that’s left of 2012. A new year will be starting soon. Along with it will be new opportunities and experiences. A new day is dawning for us to live. We can start 2013 fresh, right some wrongs, build new relationships, strenghten old ones.

There is also a New Day coming in the future. We don’t know when. No calendar can tell us. It’s the day of Jesus’ return.

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then He said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true’.” (Revelation 21:5)

Things will drastically change. Nothing of this world will be the same. Evil will be destroyed. The light of God will shine throughout the earth. Jesus Christ will establish His kingdom and only He will be sitting on the throne. Everyone will bow down and worship Him.

That New Day is coming. Are you ready for it? Will Jesus find you as a believer in Him and welcome you into His kingdom?

The picture shows an area where new homes will be built. Right now they are clearing the land, hauling away the debris, making room for construction.

This can apply to our spiritual lives as well. We all have baggage which needs to be cleared away in order for a relationship with Jesus to begin. If He is to sit on the throne in our hearts we need to make room for Him. Only then will the construction of a relationship with Him be able to start.

” Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”  (2 Corinthians 7:1)

There is a lot of junk we need to clear away. This junk could be addictions, lying, greed, hatred, complacency, non-commitment, selfishness. You get the idea.

Look are your heart. Is there room for Jesus to be the only one sitting on the throne or does some debris need to be cleared away to make room for construction to begin?

Fall on your knees before God. Confess to Him what junk is blocking the way. He will provide the bulldozer and work with you to clear the way for Jesus.

A beautiful Autumn sunrise. Sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous things to behold. The color changes in the sky as the sun moves present a magnificent display.  Taking this photograph was a little difficult because the sun was so bright. My eyesight was affected for a little while after.

I wanted the photo of this overwhelming brilliance because it made me think of what it will be like when Jesus returns. Here is a partial description of the New Jerusalem, which will be the location of Christ’s throne when he returns to reign on earth:

No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.”   (Revelation 22:3-5)

What a glorious time that will be. All the light needed will emerge from Jesus Christ, Himself.

I am looking forward to that day. Will you be there to witness this sight? You will be if Jesus is your Lord and Savior.

What can we learn about the color blue? From the source raisedpraise.com here are some things represented by blue: eternal presence of Yahweh, God’s throne, healing, authority, color of God’s chosen nation, prayer. According to crystal-cure.com blue represents the Virgin Mary.

Ezekiel 1:26 tells us, “Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man.” Then verse 28 says, “Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around Him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.”

This vision of Ezekiel’s shows the magnificent throne raised above everything else with Jesus sitting on it. What a sight that will be to see someday!

Isaiah prophesied of the future glory of Zion (Jerusalem) when the Lord returns. Isaiah 54:11 tells of the afflicted city and how it will be healed/restored, ” O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted. I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires.

Crystal-cure.com says turquoise is the symbol of youth and has a soothing affect. It is used in amulets to represent health, confidence and strength. At Jesus’ return Jerusalem will be restored to be a city of confidence and strength.

Look through a concordance and find all the other places a shade of blue is mentioned in the Bible.

Planter of flowers Easter Sunday at Covenant Life Church, Grand Haven, MI.

Don’t you love the smell of Spring? I sure do. The new flowers and fresh grass release a heavenly aroma into the air. After a gloomy cold winter seeing the colors and smelling the scents of Spring is so rejuvenating. Proverbs 27:9a says, “Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart.” The fragrance of Spring is like perfume bringing joy of new life. Our spirits are renewed. There’s more sunshine. People appear to be smiling more. They greet each other, even strangers. Have you noticed that? Did you know that having Christ in your heart can give you the feeling of Spring all year round? With Christ sitting on the throne of your heart your life is renewed day after day. There is joy. There is peace. There is contentment. It’s time to get off the throne and put Christ on it. Let Him bring Spring to your life. Just as the nature around us is showing new life, we, too, can be renewed. We have a risen Savior full of new life to share with each and every one of us.
