RESTORATION

IM000862.JPGAccording to the Mayan calendar the world is supposed to end today. I don’t think that will happen. If I did I wouldn’t have written this blog post.

Instead of the world ceasing to exist, I see today as a day to restore our souls. The New Year is fast approaching. Have you thought about any resolutions? Are there relationships in your life you’d like to see restored in 2013? Maybe restoration will come to you through a new vibrance found in going back to church.

There is also a bigger restoration in our future. We have no idea when it will take place, but we know it will happen some day.

“(God) will wipe every tear from their eyes There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”   ( Revelation 21:4)

This new order will appear when Jesus returns and establishes God’s kingdom here on earth.

Never give up hope for the Day of Restoration. It will come. That is a promise from God. Is your name written in His book of life so you will be a part of this glorious time? Accept the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ during the New Year. Experience the joy of anticipating God’s restoration of the world.

GREEN

The rainbow color today is green. I love in the Spring when everything turns green again. The brown deadness of winter fades and new life unfolds. In the Bible green shows new life, freshness, restoration, health. (raisedpraise.com)

Psalm 23:2 talks about how God provides, giving us restoration, “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters.”

When God created the world He provided food for life and good health. “And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food. And it was so.” (Genesis 1:30)

Also, God will keep us fresh so we can continue to bear fruit for Him as told in Psalm 92:12-15, “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, ‘The Lord is upright; He is my Rock and there is no wickedness in Him’.”

I especially like the verses in Psalm 92 because I am getting near retirement age. It is good to know God will keep me going so I can still spread His word even as I get older.

New life, freshness, restoration – that’s the color green.
