How many times have you received notices in the mail  informing you you’ve won a free cruise or trip? You just need to call the phone number provided. The trips are never really free. They usually want you to listen to their presentation and then pressure you to buy a time-share or something else.

There is one trip that is free. You don’t have to buy anything. You don’t have to earn it. No contest to enter and hope you’ll win.

It’s the trip you can take at the end of your life to heaven. The only obligation on your part is to open your heart to Jesus.

“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”   (Ephesians 2:4-5)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”   (Ephesians 2: 8-9)

All we need to do is have faith in Jesus Christ and a place will be waiting for us in heaven, free of charge.

What better time, than when the New Year is approaching, to turn to Jesus. It’s time to let Him in. It’s time to share His inheritance of eternal life. The trip is free. Don’t pass up this opportunity.

Family reunions are a lot of fun. It’s a time to reconnect with family members you may not have seen for a while. And don’t forget all the delicious food.

There is another family reunion I’m also looking forward to. That’s the one I’ll be a part of in heaven someday.

“. . . giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”  (Colossians 1:12)

Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will become part of the family of God. We will join with all the other believers someday in heaven surrounding the throne of God.  We’ll be reunited with loved ones and gather with the saints. What a family reunion that will be!

Is this a family reunion you’ll be looking forward to as well? It will be if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is the only one who can make this glorious reunion happen.

Blankets set out on Harbor Island for the Coast Guard Festival fireworks. The fireworks are on Saturday, but we can set out our blanklets and reserve spots for the parade and fireworks as of 12:01 AM on Friday. I sit in downtown Grand Haven starting around 8:30 PM on Thursday reserving my place for the parade. I must stay there until just after midnight to officially have my spot. I either mark it off with duct tape or fasten a blanket to the ground. For the fireworks I go to Harbor Island by 8 AM Friday morning to reserve my place.  That’s the only way to get  good viewing positions for both events.

“Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)

There is a place ready for us in heaven. We don’t have to wait in line and hope we’ll be able to find room. We don’t have to pay to get in. We don’t have to perform well to be admitted. All we need do is believe in Jesus Christ and trust that He will do what He promises. Have you put Him on the throne of your heart and are you trusting in Him with all your body, mind, and soul? If so, then there is a place reserved for you in heaven to live eternally with Jesus.

We lock our doors and windows. Some of us have home security systems so law enforcement is notified if someone tries to break in. Unfortuately, in our society today we have to take precautions to keep our things safe. Even our relationships aren’t secure. Just look at the divorce rate in this country. Bascially, nothing is secure.

Is that really true? What about our relationship with God and Jesus Christ? Is God going to leave us if we mess up? Can we rely on having a place in heaven someday?

John 10:27-30 records these words of Jesus, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

Once you have established a believing relationship with Jesus He will never desert you. Also, you are guaranteed a place in heaven. That’s home security.  Have you begun a relationship with Jesus Christ?  If so, all of God’s promises are ready for you. If not, what’s holding you back?

Sign entering Fennville, MI.

As you drive into Fennville you are entering the Allegan forest area. There is no actual gate to go through, but Fennville is one of the boundaries for the forest. Some people have gates to go through to enter their property. Animal pens have gates. There is also a gate to enter into heaven. John 10:9 Jesus says, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” There are no other gates to go through to enter heaven. Jesus is the only way. Some people would say Jesus was exaggerating or even lying when He said He is the only way. However, would a liar take it to the extreme and be willing to be tortured and killed for a lie? I don’t think so. Jesus is The Gate. Are you ready to open a relationship with Him which leads to heaven opening for you?
