How many times have you received notices in the mail  informing you you’ve won a free cruise or trip? You just need to call the phone number provided. The trips are never really free. They usually want you to listen to their presentation and then pressure you to buy a time-share or something else.

There is one trip that is free. You don’t have to buy anything. You don’t have to earn it. No contest to enter and hope you’ll win.

It’s the trip you can take at the end of your life to heaven. The only obligation on your part is to open your heart to Jesus.

“But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.”   (Ephesians 2:4-5)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”   (Ephesians 2: 8-9)

All we need to do is have faith in Jesus Christ and a place will be waiting for us in heaven, free of charge.

What better time, than when the New Year is approaching, to turn to Jesus. It’s time to let Him in. It’s time to share His inheritance of eternal life. The trip is free. Don’t pass up this opportunity.

The side of a second-hand shop in Allegan, MI.

There are shops like this all over. You can bring things you do not want anymore and if the shop owner thinks he can sell them he’ll buy them from you. In some cases you can trade what you have for something you need. We go to flea markets and garage sales and negotiate prices on things we’d like to buy.

There is one thing we all need and should desparately want, but it’s not for sale. That is God’s grace.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”  (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We can not buy grace with money. We can not trade for it. We can not earn it through being a good person. So how do we get it?

“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”  (Romans 3:22-24)

“He (Christ Himself) bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”  (I Peter 2:24)

God is waiting and willing to give you His gift of grace. Are you ready to accept Jesus as your Savior? Do you believe He paid the price for your sins? If so, open your hands wide and receive the free gift of God’s grace. It is not for sale.

We all have stories to tell. We pass down stories of our family history to our children. We write letters or send e-mails telling our friends what we’ve been up to. Some write their stories in books to share with others. Everyone has stories to share and we tell these stories daily.

There is one story we should be shouting from the rooftops and retelling to everyone we meet. “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” (Pauls’ words in Acts 20:24)

Even Jesus, Himself, has a story to tell, “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”  (Revelation 22:16)

All who have been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ has a very important story to share. Many people will be lost in the final days if they don’t hear and accept this story. God has told all believers to spread the Good News. Are you doing your part in getting the Word out? We, Christians, have a story to tell. Let’s get out there and tell it.
