Today and tomorrow are all that’s left of 2012. A new year will be starting soon. Along with it will be new opportunities and experiences. A new day is dawning for us to live. We can start 2013 fresh, right some wrongs, build new relationships, strenghten old ones.
There is also a New Day coming in the future. We don’t know when. No calendar can tell us. It’s the day of Jesus’ return.
“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then He said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true’.” (Revelation 21:5)
Things will drastically change. Nothing of this world will be the same. Evil will be destroyed. The light of God will shine throughout the earth. Jesus Christ will establish His kingdom and only He will be sitting on the throne. Everyone will bow down and worship Him.
That New Day is coming. Are you ready for it? Will Jesus find you as a believer in Him and welcome you into His kingdom?
Those of you who read this blog regularly will notice I used this photo and title a couple days ago. I’m using it again because I need to respond to a comment I received on the original posting of 12/08/12.
A person commented that darkness is good; that wisdom is in the darkness and people are just afraid to explore it.
I trashed the comment and later decided I needed to address it.
Nothing is good about the dark. A major number of crimes happen in the dark. The criminals don’t want to be seen performing their crimes so they do it under the cover of night.
When little children are afraid of monsters under their beds or in their closets it’s not during the daylight hours. It’s when it’s dark.
“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of the light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” (John 3:19-21)
Regarding this person’s comment that wisdom is found in the dark my response is Proverbs 21:30, “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.”
Darkness is the realm of Satan. He has absolutely no control over the light of the Lord. Satan’s world of darkness is shattered by a HOLY LIGHT.
Light and dark = good and evil. Here are Jesus’ words as recorded in John 3:19-21, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” When do you get more nervous being somewhere outside – in the daytime or at night? If you’re like me the nerves are more on edge during the dark of night. In the bright sunshine we can see everything in a greater area. At night we’re lucky to see even a few feet in front of us. Evil lurks in the dark hunting its prey. God’s love shines in the light. In fact it produces the light. Living in the light we are more exposed, but we also can do the most good for God. Are you hiding in the shadows of darkness, not want to be seen, afraid of being exposed? Or are you living in the light ready to show the truth about God to everyone around you, not feeling ashamed for what you are doing? Light vs dark. The choice is yours.
