Those of us who have dogs know that we must keep our dogs on a leash or chain when outside so that they do not run away.
Without Christ we are chained to Satan as his slaves to do his bidding, just like the Israelites were put in chains and dragged to Babylon because they turned away from God.
With Christ, however, those chains are cut away. Satan no longer has a hold on us.
“Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up, ‘Quick, get up!’ he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.” (Acts 12:7)
God has a very good use in mind for those chains. Here’s what John saw as recorded in Revelation 20:1-2, “And I saw an angel comng down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.”
Are you chained to Satan or have you experienced the freedom of those chains falling off? By believing in Jesus Christ those chains are removed and you are no longer a slave to Satan. Experience that freedom today.
