We need reminders in order to remember all the things we have to do in our busy schedules. We have calendars to remind us of appointments and special events. We use sticky notes or scraps of paper to jot down reminders of things we need to get done. We have iPads and planners to keep everything straight.
Do we have things to remind us about God?
You are probably wondering why a photo of piled bricks should remind us of God. When I saw these bricks I thought of how in the Old Testament piles of rocks were placed at important sites to remind the people what God had done in that place.
“And Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken out of the Jordan. He said to the Israelites, ‘In the future when your descendants ask their fathers, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them, “Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground’.” (Joshua 4:20-22)
What things remind you of God? A Bible, a cross, a Nativity scene, the beauty of nature? Whatever it is dwell on that reminder often. Take time to connect with God and let Him know you have not forgotten Him or what He has done for you.
