Road Closed signs are seen everywhere in the spring, summer, and fall. Roads are blocked due to construction and there’s no way to get through. It becomes frustrating to have to follow detours.

In life we get closed signs, too. The path we think we’re supposed to take or want to take becomes blocked. There’s no way to get around it to continue on that same path. We find ourselves at a stand still, not knowing where to go.

“He has blocked my way so I cannot pass; he has shrouded my paths in darkness.”   (Job 19:8)   Job thought God was doing this to him, but it was really Satan causing the bad things to happen. When all was said and done Job said,  “I know that You (the Lord) can do all things; no plan of Yours can be thwarted.”    Job 42:2)

The response was, “The Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before.”   (Job 42:10)

Even tho’ all these bad things were happening to Job he never turned away from God.

The road before us may appear totally closed, but God is capable of opening a way for us. The road is not blocked forever.

Do not lose faith in God during tough times. The way to Him is never closed. Hold on to His hand and the road ahead will be open for you again.

  1. When God closes a door, should we enter through the window? I think not, He does things in our life to cause us to grow and trust Him more. He is after all in full knowledge or what our future has in store for us. Its our job to SEE those plans and act accordingly.
