NEVER ALONE

Sign at Hamilton Reformed Church, Hamilton, MI.

I like this play on words. There are autumn leaves which are falling and blowing all over the place. Then we know that autumn goes away (leaves) in 3 months. Either way we look at it the events are temporary. The things associated with autumn will disappear when winter arrives.

Seasons come and go. Events of this earth are not permanent. The world is constantly changing. There is nothing in our human existance we can totally rely on that will never leave.

Or is there something or someone we can trust will never change and never leave?

Jesus said to His disciples just before He ascended into heaven, “And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:20 b)

Jesus promised His disciples the coming of the Holy Spirit. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”   (John 14:18)

We are also told by Moses when he was transferring the leadership to Joshua, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake  you.”    (Deuteronomy 31:6)

The Lord never leaves. He is present with everything we do. He sees and hears 24/7. He is immediately available whenever we need Him. We are never alone.  On that you can totally rely.
