So much talk about money. Various states and our country as a whole are so far in debt. Houses going into foreclosure because people can’t make the payments. Rich people wanting to be richer. Middle class struggling to have money to pay the bills. Credit card bills going up and up. People constantly wanting more money. Some resorting to gambling to try to acquire it. At times it appears money is the priority in people’s lives.
God has something to say about money in I Timothy 6:6-10, “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
God is not saying money is bad. He’s saying the LOVE of money is what’s bad. God knows we need money to get the necessities of life. However, when people become so focused on wanting more, more, more that everything else falls by the wayside that’s Satan at work.
How do you look at money? Do you work to get enough to meet your needs or has acquiring more and more become an obsession? Stay in the faith. God will provide what you NEED. Don’t let the love of money take over your life.
