So many talented people set up booths at the Art Festival to sell the things they’ve made. There are artists, photographers, jewelry makers, craft people of all kinds. Each of these people have different abilitites. I can’t paint a picture, but I can crochet afghans. Even though we have to learn how to do the various crafts and arts the underlying ability and desire to do it comes from God. No two people can do exactly the same things.
When building the Tabernacle Moses did not let just anybody do the casting of the gold or the weaving/embroidering of the cloth. He went to people who knew how to do these things. “So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.” (Exodus 36:1)
God gives each one of us talents, abilities, passions, and gifts. ” We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportaion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.” (Romans 11:6-8)
How are you using the talents, passions, gifts God has given you?
