Starting today for seven days I’m doing something a little different. Each day I’m going to write about a different color of the rainbow. Day 7 I’m throwing in an extra color. Today’s color is red. Biblically red stands for “blood atonement, sin, sacrifice of Christ’s blood, judgment, redemption”. (raisedpraise.com) Let’s look at red as the symbol for sin.
” ‘Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’ ” (Isaiah 1:18)
We all sin and have the crimson stain on us. But through the saving grace of God, Jesus gave His blood, His life to atone for our sins. By His sacrifice that stain has been removed, if we believe in Him. By His resurrection the red has turned to the white of purity. We are granted eternal life, through no action of our own. Our job is to repent, to try our hardest not to repeat those sins, to live a new life in Christ. Has your red stain been washed clean by the blood of Jesus?
